ViewLux Sliding & Patio Doors: The Delray Beach Owner’s Guide

We stock and install ViewLux-compatible sliding and patio door hardware, rollers, tracks, handles, and locks in Delray Beach, with most part replacements completed in a single visit. You’ll typically spend $145 to $420 installed depending on the part and your door’s series, and we keep the most common ViewLux failure points on the truck so we can often handle the repair the first time out. The way most Delray Beach homeowners discover a ViewLux part has failed is not a dramatic break. It is a door that suddenly takes two hands to move, a handle that spins without catching, or a track that grinds like it has sand in it. Those are the early signals. Ignore them long enough and the door stops moving at all, usually on a Sunday, usually when you have company.

We are an independent service provider, not affiliated with ViewLux. What that means for you is that we stock both OEM ViewLux hardware and quality aftermarket equivalents, and we’ll show you the difference in writing before any work begins. Dale Kessler grew up in the Lake Ida neighborhood of Delray Beach, and he has seen enough salt-air corroded tracks and delaminated rollers to know exactly what a ViewLux door does here that it won’t do up north.

Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux has changed hardware suppliers more than once over the years, and the part your door needs depends on the series and the year it was manufactured. Most ViewLux sliding doors in Delray Beach fall into one of three groups: the early 2000s aluminum-frame sliders, the mid-2000s to mid-2010s vinyl extrusion sliders, and the current thermally-broken aluminum and vinyl hybrid lines. Each series uses a different roller assembly diameter and a different track profile, and the parts are not interchangeable. If you have a 2006 ViewLux patio slider, do not buy a roller kit labeled “universal” and expect it to seat correctly. It won’t.

To identify your door, check the inside edge of the door panel near the bottom corner for a laser-etched or foil label. You’re looking for a series code, a manufacture date, or a glass stamp. If the label is worn off, and in Delray Beach’s humidity and salt air it often is, we can identify the series from the track profile and the roller housing once we’re on site. That identification matters because OEM ViewLux rollers for one series can cost three times what the aftermarket equivalent costs for another, and the honest answer is that for some series the aftermarket part is actually the better call.

We also stock compatible hardware for, and PGT doors, and we are an authorized installer for more than a dozen manufacturer lines. But when it comes to ViewLux specifically, series identification is the whole game.

Signs Your ViewLux Sliding & Patio Door Is Failing

  • The door takes two hands and a hip to move. This is almost always a roller failure: the nylon or stainless bearing inside the roller housing has seized or worn flat, and the door is now dragging on the track. Every week you keep using it, you’re wearing a flat spot into the track itself, which turns a roller replacement into a track replacement.
  • A grinding or gravelly sound when the door slides. That’s the roller bearing disintegrating and the metal fragments scoring the track aluminum. In Delray Beach, fine sand from the beach works its way into roller housings and accelerates this. If you hear it, stop using the door until the roller is replaced.
  • The handle lifts but the door won’t latch, or the handle spins freely. ViewLux patio door handles use an internal gear mechanism that strips over time, especially on doors in direct sun. The salt air accelerates corrosion on the gear teeth. The handle needs replacement, not lubrication.
  • The door panel sags at the handle side and scrapes the threshold. This is a roller adjustment issue that’s gone too far. Most ViewLux rollers are height-adjustable with a screw accessible at the bottom edge of the panel. If the adjustment is maxed out and the door still scrapes, the roller carriage itself is worn and needs to be replaced. Continuing to force it warps the door panel over time.
  • The door locks but a firm pull opens it anyway. The latch hook on a ViewLux slider engages a keeper in the jamb. Over time, the keeper plate loosens or the hook wears down, especially if the door was ever forced while locked. This is a security issue, not just an annoyance, and it’s one of the cheaper fixes when caught early.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Delray Beach, expect to pay $145 to $420 for most ViewLux sliding door part replacements, installed. A roller replacement runs $145 to $260 for both rollers on a standard two-panel door. A handle and lock set typically lands between $120 and $210 depending on the series and whether we use OEM or a high-grade aftermarket part. A full track replacement, which is only needed when the track has been damaged by years of failed rollers dragging across it, runs $320 to $420 and up depending on the track length.

What’s included: the part, the labor to install it, adjustment and alignment of the door panel so it seals and slides correctly, and cleanup. We quote the price before we start, and that price does not change unless we find something broken that genuinely could not have been seen before disassembly. We measure every opening twice, and we register both warranty layers in writing before the truck leaves the driveway. That’s the Keystone Standard, and it applies to parts work the same as full door replacements.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: look at the bottom edge of the door panel for a round access hole where the roller adjustment screw sits; try lifting the door panel straight up in the track to see if there’s play; and run your finger along the track to feel for gouges or pitting. Identifying a symptom is safe. Fixing a ViewLux roller is not, because the panel is heavy glass and aluminum, and getting it out of the frame means tilting it at an angle that can go wrong fast if you don’t handle door panels every week.

Dale Kessler learned the fundamentals of glazing and frame installation at Palm Beach State College’s Lake Worth campus, and he still approaches every ViewLux door the same way he reads a rough opening: quietly, carefully, and without rushing to conclusions. We’ll tell you if a part can be saved or if it’s done. Most jobs are completed in a single visit, and the work is covered by our Done Right Promise. Call (561) 940-2917 and a live person will answer, day or night, not a voicemail tree.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."

RRonald P.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."
